60.2.1. Call

This button opens a pop-up window, where users may digit or search for a numbers within the Address Book.

This button terminates the active call.

Call-try: In the event the desired person is busy, you may wish Abilis to retry automatically. The time-interval and the amount of retries can be set-up using the settings.

60.2.2. Put a call on hold

This button puts the party on hold and lets the operator to call and talk with a second party. Pressing this button again recovers the first call from hold and puts the second one on-hold. Terminating the call -instead- connects the first with the second party.

60.2.3. Transfer calls

Having an active conversation with a party and another conversation on hold, this button connects the first party with the second party.

60.2.4. Transfer a call without answering

An Abilis innovative way consists in clicking with the left mouse-button on the OPC user box and keeping it pressed while dragging it to the target user's box. This procedure works also by calls in the alerting state.

The operator can transfer the call without taking it!

If the target isn't available in the OPC, the operator can press this button and type the number to which the call is to be forwarded.

60.2.5. Switch between two calls

Having one active call and one call on hold, this button to switch between the two calls.

60.2.6. Conference

Having one active call and one call on hold, creates a conference between you, the active call and the call on hold. To add a new party into the conference, just press , call the new party, wait his answer and press again.

60.2.7. Precedence

Sets the 'precedence' option on. Precedence is an option for users registered in the same Abilis. Precedence alerts users even if they're busy in another conversation, or even if they had set the Do-not-Disturb flag.

While receiving a precedence call, users can react with the appropriate keycode:

  • R 1 --> quit the active call and switch to the precedence call.

  • R 2 --> put the active call on hold and switch to the precedence call.

  • R 3 --> refuse the precedence call.

  • Or otherwise can close and put their handset on-hook, it will ring immediately.

There is a priority system to make a precedence call, so not everyone can do it. To change the priority, please refer to: Section 61.4.1.1, “Setting priorities for precedence call”.
